Current research project:

Tamara Scheer is currently developing an international research project about the relationship between the Roman Catholic Church and the State (from the Habsburg Empire to its successor states) from the age of rising so called national awareness with its transformation of the society throughout nineteenth century to its ever changing meanings and characteristics in the twentieth. She draws on twenty years of researching nationalism and indentities in Central Europe, studies on Bosnia-Hercegovina, State of Emergencies and occupation regimes in South East Europe during the Balkan Wars and the First World War.
