Irena Remestwenski, M.A.
Managing Director

Irena Remestwenski is head administrator at RECET. She has a Master's degree in Peace and Conflict Studies (University of Marburg), a post-graduate certificate in Development and Management of Research Projects (University of Kassel) and over 10 years of experience as a trainer in historical-political education and in Russian-Ukrainian dialogue projects. She is the founder and formerly director of the Center for Dialogue and Reconciliation "Iskra" (Ukraine).

At RECET, Irena oversees a wide range of work areas, among them:

  • science communication
  • producing the Transformative Podcast
  • event management
  • project budgeting and controlling
  • reporting
  • internal communications
  • hiring and recruitment 
  • onboarding of new fellows
  • office management
  • implementing best-practices from the fields of project management and digitalisation

Irena has previously been the project lead of "Knowledgeable Youth: Science Communication in Times of War" (2023-2024), a project funded by the City of Vienna, acted as Country Coordinator for Austria at "Science For Ukraine" (2022-2024), and is coordinating RECET's own efforts in supporting scholars at risk coming from Ukraine.
