Andrzej Frączysty (b. 1995) is a teacher of philosophy at primary and secondary schools, a sociologist, and a doctoral candidate at the Doctoral School of Social Sciences at the University of Łódź. At the Faculty of Economics and Sociology (Department of Sociology of Culture), he is preparing a doctoral dissertation entitled Professional habitus, expertise, and the field of therapeutic practices in contemporary Poland: a sociological analysis. He is also the co-founder and, since 2017, editor of Mały Format (www.malyformat.com), a magazine dedicated to social and literary critique.

Current Research Project

The ongoing research project is directly related to his doctoral dissertation. It examines the process of institutionalization of the therapeutic expert sphere in Poland in the context of the systemic transformation, as well as its consequences for contemporary forms of therapeutic expertise, their prestige, and the symbolic power associated with them.
